Doula Services
Our philosophy:
We believe that birth is a normal physiological process and an important journey in a mother and father’s life.
We will support you during your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period, in whatever choices you make.
We will provide information and resources to enable you to make informed choices.
What is a Doula?
Doulas are educated and knowledgeable about childbirth and the postpartum experience. They are advocates and a listening ear for birthing mothers as well as facilitators to her partner.
Providing emotional, physical, and informational support that empowers a laboring woman and her birth partner who might otherwise feel overwhelmed by the powerful and amazing miracle of the childbirth; to have a wonderfully satisfying delivery experience.
A Doula can offer a wide range of comfort measures during labor from massage to aromatherapy to continuous reassurance and coping techniques.
The cost and value of doula services When you are weighing the cost and value of doula services consider the experience and advocacy you are gaining by entering into the relationship. A doula is often the only person at a birth who is devoted solely to the couple emotional and physical well being without the need to attend to clinical responsibilities; who stay with you even before going to the hospital. As your doula, we remain as a source of encouragement and reassurance throughout the birth, regardless of how many shift changes occur or what clinical tasks need to be attended to. Our focus remains on providing guidance, advocacy, and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to a positive birth experience for you as you define it.
